Parish Committee

The Parish Committee is the governing body of the Society, elected at the annual meeting by the entire voting membership. It consists of eight members, including the officers: President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary.  Three are members-at-large who serve overlapping three year terms, with one elected each year. A representative of the Trustees of the Society also serves as a member of the Parish Committee.  The Minister serves as an ex-officio member of the Parish Committee.

As the governing body, the Parish Committee addresses strategic issues, sets policy, reviews and evaluates the key administrative and programmatic plans for the church, and recommends the operating budget to be approved by the membership at the annual meeting.  Members of the Parish committee serve as liaisons to the various committees of the Society.

The Parish Committee meets monthly and all members of the Society are invited and encouraged to participate in these open meetings. Go to the UUSMV calendar to see the date, time, and location of the next meeting. If you wish to have an item on the agenda, contact the President.
